Keep your precious memories forever in digital format. Do you have any old cassettes, CDs or DVDs that you want transferred to digital before they get too old and brittle or degrade in quality? Well, my teen daughter (Addie) would like to convert them for you. These digital files make excellent gifts to parents and family members.

Formats Addie can convert:
• VHS (NTSC and PAL)
• Super VHS
• MiniDV
• Video8 [NTSC (North American) or PAL (European)]
• Betamax (BETA)
• Audio cassettes
• CDs & DVDs
• Reel-to-reel (no audio)

1. If the cassette is less than 15 minutes long, she charges a flat $5.
2. For anything longer than 15 minutes up to 4 hours, the cost is $10 per cassette (audio and/or video).
3. Anything over 4 hours, the cost would be $15 per cassette
4. Copying music or files off a CD is $1 per CD
5. Copying music or data off a DVD is $1 per DVD
6. Ripping video from a DVD is the same prices as a cassette (see above)… the cost would be either $5 or $10 depending on the length

Addie will copy the files to a USB thumb drive that you either supply yourself or purchase, at cost, from her (she currently has in stock $12.00 for 64GB).

You are more than welcome to bring your own hard drive too. We can work with whatever hardware you have. We will make sure that the USB drives are formatted so that they will work on Macintosh, Windows and smart TV’s. We will make up to 3 different copies for you at no additional charge. Anything over 3 copies will be $1 extra per copy (for all files, not $1 per video). If you have a different request, let us know and we can accommodate you.

If you have another cassette format that is not listed above, please let us know and we will try to track down the equipment necessary for conversion.

In the past two-and-a-half years, Addie has converted over 1200 cassettes (mostly from members of the Riverbend Swap Facebook page) and has had nothing but happy customers.

Note, we can convert your digital files to DVD (which we will provide at no extra cost) if you prefer, but conversion to DVD may degrade the quality of the videos depending on the length. Ideally they should saved as digital files (which gives you the flexibility to do much more with them at any time in the future including burning them to DVD).

Also, we will keep a copy of your files until you tell us it is okay to delete them. We currently have 21 computer hard drives ranging from 80GB’s to 500GB’s that we can sell for $5 each (yes, $5!) if you’d like to have your files copied onto as well!

Great for having a backup which you can keep offsite at work or at a family member’s house or in a safety deposit box.  Addison accepts cash, e-transfer or cheque.

Conversions are very time consuming so the cassettes must be dropped off and then we will contact you when they are completed. Typically 1-3 days depending on how busy she is and how many cassettes you drop off.
